Poetry
of Ross De La Garza

I look upon the fields
  and I see the oceans
And the further I look
the less I see and the more I feel
The splendor and wonder of it all
  places the individual
  in a time-space vacuum
Where all our consciousness
were liken to a rain drop
  in a vast sea
A single entity
drifts with the winds, the tides  and the currents
And alas the struggle is no longer
  a struggle and the
Separateness becomes a wholeness.
----

I once believed in Fairy tales
and Kings and Queens and streets covered in gold
But as I grew my eyes did see
that things weren't necessarily as they be
So i ventured forth and found my way
and stumbled across a beautiful day
The day was bright the day was long
the day was something I'd never known
I think that special day I never shall forget
because she gave me a rose
             and what greater a gift

----

I am alive
I see my fingers move, feel my heart beat
I see my reflection in a pool so near and yet so far
You came to me like a vision in the night
and showed me a world much to my delight
The pool became an Ocean
      and our love became one

----
I find myself thinking of a girl I know,
a beauty unique for all the world to behold...
a vision of loveliness through and through,
these thoughts I write are all for you.
You warm my  life like the sun above
that shines bright and true forever with love,
and like the wind forever free, I know you too long to be...
A rose is a flower and a kiss a touch,
but without your sweet smile these matter not much...
patience is a virtue so they say,
all I wish is to be with you forever and a day.
